From sixth grade through high school, we have our very popular Youth Ministry. Led by our experienced Youth Pastor, Tim Britton, our One8ty youth ministry is geared especially for teenagers during this sometimes difficult transitional period in their lives.
The Youth Ministry meets every Wednesday evening at 7:00 and every Sunday evening at 6:30 in the state-of-the-art youth section of our Ministry Center (complete with game room!), for a time of food, fun, and Scriptural truth. We also get together other times throughout the month as well, for meals together, events, and concerts.
In addition, our Youth Ministry deals with topics of particular interest to today's youth such as dating, drinking, drugs, and pre-marital sex are addressed in a tactful yet frank and loving manner that is always based first and foremost on the Bible. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
(Mark 16:15, NKJV)
Through cooperation with Baptist Faith Missions and other missionary organizations, we support more than twenty missionaries in active service
around the world in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
In addition to missionaries on foreign soil, we have our own team of "domestic missionaries" who respond with construction assistance
and the Gospel to areas devastated by disasters, such as the Gulf Coast region in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
For more information about each of the missionaries we support, including the areas in which they serve, as well as information about our own
team, please click on the link below to visit our "missions" page.
In the Spring of 2004, Mount Calvary undertook a study of the immensely popular book, "Purpose Driven Life"
and the complementary series, "40 Days of Purpose". Following that, we began a program of small growth groups for times of
worship, edification, and study.
On the first Sunday evening of the month, in lieu of our regular Sunday evening service we devote the time to our growth groups program for
a time of prayer and Bible study. So far, the program has proved very successful, providing an opportunity for sharing with brothers and
sisters in Christ that is simply not possible in a traditional, large church setting.
If you are new to the Charleston area or looking for a setting that is smaller and more intimate than what is often found in a traditional
congregational setting, we would love to have you join us for one of our growth group meetings. For more information about growth groups,
please contact us at the phone number or address below, or e-mail us at pastor@mtcalvarybaptist.com.
