Introduction to II Corinthians

- Author. Paul wrote II Corinthians (1:1) late in 57 A.D. shortly after I Corinthians, probably from Philippi, Macedonia, during his third missionary journey (8:1).
- Recipients. II Corinthians is written to the church at Corinth, and also to all believers who read this book (1:1).
- Theme. The true gospel ministry and principles for action.
- Key verses. 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
